Enhancing Clinical Practice Workshop | LICBT and Menopause (PWP and MHWP) | Tuesday 13th January 2026
This menopause workshop is tailored for Adult Psychological Practitioners to build knowledge and confidence in supporting individuals affected by menopause and perimenopause within mental health services.
Perimenopause refers to the transitional phase leading up to menopause, during which hormone levels fluctuate and menopausal symptoms begin. Menopause is defined as the point when menstruation has ceased for 12 consecutive months, typically occurring between ages 45–55. Both phases can bring a range of physical and psychological changes. Crucially, perimenopause and menopause can significantly affect mental health, contributing to symptoms such as low mood, anxiety, irritability, poor concentration, sleep disturbances, and a reduction in self-esteem. These symptoms may overlap with or worsen existing common mental health problems and are often under-recognised or misattributed.
This workshop will overview practical and evidence-based approaches to adapt low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy techniques to better support clients experiencing symptoms associated with the menopause. Emphasis will also be placed on culturally sensitive and individualised care, acknowledging the diverse ways menopause is experienced. Using interactive case examples, skills practice, and group discussion, the session will equip low-intensity practitioners with tools and confidence to address menopause-related challenges within CBT frameworks, ensuring that those experiencing perimenopause and menopause receive informed, compassionate, and effective support in their mental health journey.
This workshop is open to both PWP’s and MHWP’s and will be held remotely via Zoom from 09:30am to 16:30pm.
A place on this workshop will cost £125. Please do book a place on this programme using the link below, alternatively we can arrange for an invoice to your service/organisation.
